How we verify debt specialists
How we check who is on DebtSolvedza
Not every kind of help in this industry has an official register to check against. So we use two different ways of checking, depending on what kind of debt specialist you're talking to — and we always tell you which one applies.
Regulated debt specialists
These are debt counsellors, attorneys, and financial advisers. Each one belongs to an official body that governs their profession:
NCR
National Credit Regulator — for registered debt counsellors.
LPC
Legal Practice Council — for attorneys.
FSCA
Financial Sector Conduct Authority — for financial advisers.
We check every regulated debt specialist's registration number against the real record before they're allowed to appear on DebtSolvedza. You can check it yourself too — every verified debt specialist's profile links directly to the official register.
Credit consultants
Some of the most common kinds of help — like disputing an incorrect listing on your credit report, or negotiating with a creditor — don't have an official register at all. Anyone can call themselves a "credit consultant."
Because there's no register to check, we verify these debt specialists a different way: their real business registration, ID, and address. We tell you clearly on their profile that this is a business check, not a professional register check — so you always know exactly what "verified" means for the person you're talking to.
What “pending” means
A debt specialist who has just registered isn't automatically approved. Every credential is checked by a real person, by hand. Until that's done, a debt specialist's services show as "pending" — they cannot see or contact anyone until they've genuinely been checked.
